Something In Your Voice was a show by Emergency Chorus, still in development. I collaborated on the development of the show, and composed the sound for the most recent showing.

Tomorrow We Will Be Lighter Than Air; 2019
40 minutes
‘Somewhere, there is a city
A little like this city, in some ways
but very different in others
A city where only angels live…’
A child imagines every city that exists, that might exist. Stories made of cities, and cities made of stories. Somewhere, in a space outside of space, a woman waits. Stories will shatter, cities will forget how to speak, and new selves will be built from the ashes.
Tomorrow We Will Be Lighter Than Air (part 2 - part 1 was a seperate piece which I did not work on) was an (admittedly quite loose) response to Wim Wender’s Wings of Desire. It was made with a group of 7 other artists from MA performance design and practise, the result of a three month residency at Reinbeckhhallen and Tatwerk in Berlin. The piece examined questions around consciousness and language.
I wrote the performance text, designed the soundscape, directed some sections, contributed to the dramaturgy, and performed. Music was a mixture of extant songs and original compositions.
There’s a trailer for the show HERE, cut together by Yuan Yue.
Ensemble: Nat Norland, Aziza Kadyri, Mara Manea, Yuan Yue, Wei Zhang, Yifat Shir-Moskovitz, Konstantinos Chaldaios and Ronnie Kommene.
